Participation in the Bátaapáti environmental licensing procedure

Energiaklub participated as a client in the environmental licensing procedure of the planned low and intermediate level radioactive waste site at Bátaapáti.

Description:

Bátaapáti is a small village in South Hungary on the border of two counties. A deep geological final repository for low and medium level radioactive wastes is planned to be built on a site near Bátaapáti in the granite rock of the surrounding hills. Energiaklub participated as a client in the environmental licensing procedure. We issued our opinion on the preliminary environmental study and the Environmental Impact Assesment , and took part in the public hearing. We appealed against the environmental license, but it was denied by the National Inspectorate for Environment, Nature and Water.
