RenovAID - support for energy efficiency for buildings in Kosovo and Albania

The aim of the RenovAID project is to address the problem of modest improvements in Kosovo and Albania by providing a multi-level structural support to enhance the energy efficiency of buildings.

The idea behind the RenovAID project is to highlight the importance of energy efficiency during the energy transition, as it addresses environmental, social and energy security dimensions at the same time. As none of the target countries has an appropriate policy framework, the RenovAID project aims to provide an overall support for this aspect of energy transition. In addition, its main objective is to facilitate the development of an effective energy efficiency policy, as well as help to design effective policy measures - including a well-designed energy certification framework and one-stop shops to support building renovation.

Moreover, the project also focuses on the issue of energy poverty, (which is a particularly serious problem in Kosovo and Albania compared to other European countries), to enable the development of policy support schemes for vulnerable groups.

The project is supported by European Climate Initiative (EUKI).

The participants of the project: Milieukontakt Albania (MiA) (Albania), Balkan Green Foundation (BGF) (Kosovo), Institute for Development Policy (INDEP) (Kosovo), WiseEuropa - Foundation Warsaw Institute for Economic and European Studies (Poland), Energiaklub (Hungary).
