Participation in the Environmental Impact Assessment procedure regarding the Mochovce NPP

Description:

It was revealed in 2007 that the Slovakian government intended to finish the two remaining reactors of the Mochovce NPP without EIA. As a result of our campaign carried out together with international organisations, the Slovak government decided to start the procedure in March 2009.

We sent our statement to the Hungarian Ministry of Environment and Water in which we proposed that Hungary had to conduct in the international impact assessment procedure. On the 23rd of June with the Slovakian Za Matku Zem and the Czech Hnutí Duha organisations we organised a conference on the issue.

We sent our opinion on the Impact Assessment Report to the Ministry in October 2009, and took part on the public hearing, where we raised questions to the representatives of the Mochovce NPP.
