EU Peers II: European Practitioners for integrated Home Renovation Services

EU Peers – Community supporting One-Stop Shops for home renovation brings together organisations across Europe working to accelerate residential building renovation. Renovation is essential to reduce energy use and emissions, improve living conditions, tackle energy poverty and strengthen energy security. Yet renovation rates remain too low, and homeowners face financial, technical and organisational barriers as well as a lack of trusted, coordinated support.

One-Stop Shops (OSS) for home renovation can help overcome these barriers. By providing a single point of contact and bringing together services such as advice, technical planning, financing and contractor coordination, OSS can make renovation simpler and more accessible. They can be run by municipalities, regional agencies, utilities, cooperatives, private organisations or partnerships, and adapted to different local contexts.

EU Peers II builds on the first phase and strengthens the European Community of Practice for OSS. Through 12 national platforms and a transnational platform, the project connects practitioners, public authorities, financial institutions and other stakeholders. Peer exchange, working groups, training and practical tools will support the development and replication of OSS, while policy work will help create framework conditions for their wider uptake. In doing so, EU Peers II contributes to making One-Stop Shops a stronger part of Europe’s renovation landscape.
