2009 is a crucial year for the climate as the nations of the world come together in Copenhagen in December 2009 to agree a Global Deal for tackling climate change. The EU needs to take a position of leadership in these negotiations. EU decision-makers - MEPs and governments - have a decision to make: either they can chose a future in which we cut
emissions of greenhouse gasses by at least 30% by 2020 and avert the worst impacts of climate change; or they choose a future with devastating impacts for people, habitats and species.
