The Nabucco Pipeline and the southeastern gas corridor – perspectives of the European energy security

During the last years energy security became one of the top priority issues of international politics. From a European point of view, the secure flow of natural gas has developed to be a strategic challenge if one considers that security of supply has to be maintained while our other kind of interests have to be guarantied as well.

During the discussion organized by Energiaklub, participants were informed about the policy pursued by the European Commission, the activities carried out by Mr. Jozias van Aartsen, Nabucco Coordinator of the EU as well as the approach followed concerning the south-eastern gas corridor in a strategic perspective.
 
Among other invited researchers, experts and representatives of the press, Ambassador Mihály Bayer, responsible for the Nabucco-project on behalf of Hungary was also attending.
