Green light for renewables - Our opinion on the Hungarian Renewable Energy Action Plan
Finally the Renewable Energy Action Plan (REAP) of Hungary has been published for consultation by the Ministry for National Development (NFM). Energiaklub believes that this is the most comprehensive document on the future of renewables which has been prepared in the last years. It contains those measures that are needed not only for fulfilling EU obligations but also to increase the sustainability of the Hungarian energy sector.
Energiaklub took part in the international project financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) whcih was set up to comment on working documents for the REAP developed in the first half of 2010. Energialub besides took part in the public consultation process of the Ministry for National Development (NFM) and tried to support the development of the action plan also in the course of direct consultations. We believe that the final REAP fulfills the requirements of the 2009/28/EC directive and contains the most important measures that are needed to give renewables the opportunity to spread faster - according to their potentials. Nevertheless the document contains some shortages which we also address in our opinion forwarded to the ministry in charge.
