Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan for Szeged City

Energiaklub has elaborated the SECAP for Szeged including the steps needed to reach a significant (40%) reduction in CO2 emissions and to raise resilience of the city against the local impacts of climate change.

Szeged is committed to support the implementation of the 40% greenhouse gas-reduction target by 2030 and to the increasement of the ability to adapt to the impacts of climate change. To this end the City has joined the Covenant of Mayors in 2017. Energiaklub has prepared the SECAP (Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan) of the city.

The purpose of the Action Plan is to help the decision-makers work and support the sustainable energy investments of the city, which will allow a 40% reduction in emissions by 2030. To achieve this goal it includes concrete measures for improving energy efficiency, utilizing renewable energy sources and adapting to climate change.

The planning process was complemented by the preparation of a project-generating study for the implementation of certain SECAP measures in the field of awareness raising.
