Recommendations for a new legal environment for renewables in Hungary

Aim: to discuss the current legal and support environment of renewable energy sources in Hungary at round table discussions organised for all RE technologies and to formulate recommendations for changes in the legal environment accordingly.

Target groups: renewable energy associations, producers, investors, municipalities, ministries, related authorities

Description: a predictable legal environment, steady support circumstances are needed in order to attract investors into the renewable energy sector. And investments are needed to fulfill the 13% renewable energy till 2020 set by the EU. Round table discussions were organised for each RE technology to get close range information about where the most important obstructive point of regulations are, and to collect recommendations for modifications. A package of recommendations will be compiled in Automn 2009 which will show the way to an eased legal environment for renewables.
