Developing SECAP for Pilisvörösvár - now with 60% emission reduction target
Following several other Hungarian cities, Pilisvörösvár has joined the Covenant of Mayors and in accordance with its requirements, the city will prepare and submit its Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP), with the professional support of the Energiaklub.
Pilisvörösvár is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by at least 60% by 2035 and increasing its resilience to the unavoidable impacts of climate change, as well as to map the situation of people living in energy poverty, instead of the previously general target of at least 40% emission reduction by 2030. The Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan includes a situation analysis, setting strategic targets and defining the measures needed to achieve them. This is the first city for which we need to develop a plan to achieve such ambitious goals.
