What our Polish partners wrote about the Budapest study visit
From 15 to 17 September, stakeholders and project partners from Albania, Kosovo, Poland, and Hungary gathered in Budapest for the RenovAID study visit, a three-day long program dedicated to advancing knowledge and collaboration in the field of energy-efficient building renovation.
The study visit included meetings with practitioners of renovation policy in Hungary, who were happy to share their knowledge with participants on the challenges and opportunities of implementing complex renovation programs. The theoretical interviews were complemented by the opportunity to visit and learn about practical aspects, such as running a one-stop shop providing support to the citizens most in need in the field of renovation.
During the study visit, a cooperation session was also organized between the project partners and practitioners from Kosovo and Albania. The session aimed to define joint recommendations and prepare valuable materials for an action plan for the establishment of local OSSs in Kosovo and Albania.
"The study visit’s practical experiences perfectly complemented the theoretical knowledge gained through the handbook and the online training, and the action plan developed during the group work will provide an excellent basis for municipalities in Tirana and Pristina to implement one-stop shop advisory services." - said Ilona Illésné-Szécsi, project leader at Energiaklub Climate Policy Institute, and the host of the study visit.
This study tour was one of the activities within the RenovAID project - an initiative under the European Climate Initiative (EUKI), focusing on enhancing energy efficiency in buildings across Kosovo and Albania through policy recommendations, financial mechanisms, and awareness campaigns. The project is implemented by WiseEuropa (Poland), Energiaklub (Hungary), Mileukontakt (Albania), Balkan Green Foundation, and The Institute for Development Policy (Kosovo).
