Recommendations for Energy Performance Certificates and Deep Renovation Platforms

The QualDeEPC project presents the results of the projects in a brochure, including a recommended first page for the EPC form, 10 policy recommendations as well as good examples of Deep Renovation Network Platforms available in partner countries.

An informative, user-friendly template for the first page of energy performance certificates (EPCs) was developed by the project in order to improve cross-EU convergence and include deep renovation considerations. The recommended form contains information about requirements such as nZEB standard and smart readiness indicator. It provides information about the current status of the building as well as the improved status after implementation of the recommended ‘main option’ for energy renovation. It also indicates potential energy savings (in kWh/yr) and reduction in CO2 / GHG emissions when implementing the recommended ‘main option’ for energy renovation.

The policy recommendations primarily concern improved EPC forms, increased coverage of building stock with EPCs, online tools for building owners and mandatory EPC assessor training.

The Deep Renovation Network Platforms offer information, products and services and create a one-stop-shop between various stakeholders involved in the energy renovation of buildings. In the partner countries, such platforms have been introduced or further improved by the project.
