EU Peers Training on One-Stop-Shop Renovation Advisory
Beyond lack of funding, one of the greatest obstacles to home renovation is the lack of information: most homeowners don’t know what to renovate, how to do it, how much it will cost, or how long it will take. They also don’t know what results to expect or whom to turn to for help. One-stop-shop renovation advisers (OSS) provide technical, financial, legal, and administrative support all in one place, making them a key driver for accelerating residential energy renovation.
Launching OSS advisory services is beneficial not only for businesses but also for municipalities. These services
- can help residents carry out modern, high-quality, and straightforward energy renovations,
- stimulate the local economy, and
- support municipalities in meeting both national and EU climate targets.
You can find additional arguments in the municipal campaign leaflet here.
To support the development of such services, Energiaklub Climate Policy Institute is offering a mentoring programme as part of the EU Peers project, aimed at organisations planning to establish an OSS. The programme is primarily designed for larger municipalities, financial institutions, and other organisations that plan to launch OSS services in the near future.
Participants in the half-day online meeting in January and the 1.5-day in-person event in Budapest in March will gain insights into:
- the current state of building renovation in Hungary;
- EU-level expectations and best practices related to OSS;
- models and services of one-stop-shop advisory systems;
- Hungarian initiatives and operational OSS examples;
- available funding options for renovation;
- related marketing and awareness-raising activities, useful digital tools;
- and methods for selecting reliable contractors.
The training will conclude with a group workshop, where participants will have the opportunity to develop their own action plans for launching and operating OSS services based on the knowledge gained.
Participation in the mentoring programme is free of charge, and reimbursement for travel and accommodation costs can be requested. The exact date will be scheduled later, based on applicants’ preferences.
As the number of places is limited, priority will be given to applicants who are expected to generate greater impact and reach, based on the information provided in the application form.
English-speaking applicants also have the opportunity to join mentoring programmes in Italy or Ireland.
Applications—for both the Hungarian and English-language mentoring programmes—are open until 21 December 2025 via this application form. (The language can be switched to Hungarian in the top right corner.)
The EU Peers project (101120790 LIFE22-CET-EU Peers) is implemented with the support of the European Union’s LIFE Programme.
