Green Public Procurement for climate protection

The European Green ProcA project with participation of seven countries, including Hungary with the lead of Energiaklub, finished in Autumn 2016. The main aim of the project was to highlight the long-term benefits of the green public procurement in municipalities, and provide adequate information about the green processes.

During the successful project, nearly 90 training events and 400 consultations were organized about the green public procurement by the partner organizations altogether. The 40 green procurement lighthouse projects made by diverse municipalities resulted in 26.000t CO2 savings yearly in the partner countries.

Beyond the numbers, we surely see several other positive outcomes of the project. The good example projects, and the success of our partner municipalities in the European competition of the GPPs show that Hungary has made a significant progress in the field of green investments.
