Participation in the Paks environmental licensing procedure

Description:

Energiaklub participated as a client in the environmental licensing procedure of the lifetime extension of the Paks nuclear power plant. We issued opinions on the preliminary environmental study (Hungarian) and on the environmental impact assessment (Hungarian) and we took part on public hearings held in Paks and Kalocsa (a city within the 20 km radius of the nuclear power plant) and the public hearing in Austria based on the Espoo Convention. We appealed (Hungarian) against the environmental license, and after its denial, on the Court, due to professional and formal objections. Our appeal against the life-time extension was denied by the Court at the end of 2007.
